CHR under orders to fast-track L’Enclume refurb

Preston distributor CHR has been given less than a month to carry out the refurbishment of double-Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan’s flagship restaurant in the Lake District.

Rogan has ordered an upgrade of the kitchen at L’Enclume and CHR needs to complete the project in a smaller timeframe than it would normally be used to.

CHR’s sales manager, Scott Walker, explained: “While this is a highly prestigious and exciting installation, the pressure for us to deliver is really on. This fast-track project has been agreed to complete in four weeks from initial discussion, instead of the usual eight to ten weeks.”

The kitchen at L’Enclume has been added to and invested in over the past 10 years as the restaurant has grown. This latest re-fit is designed to create an energy efficient infrastructure that will last for the foreseeable future.

Integral to the brief is the stipulation that the original range is retained and, where practical, any existing materials and equipment be reused or recycled rather than manufacturing from new.

“Simon has a passion for salvaging anything that can be refurbished, as he does not like waste of any kind,” said Walker. “Additionally we are in the process of installing new ventilated ceilings and bespoke fabrication as well as a new grill to complement the existing range together with a new and impressive multifunctional MKN FlexiChef.”
