Chiller Box lends helping hand to start-ups

Chiller Box directors Marios Poumpouris and Michael Michael are aiming to help independent foodservice operations get off the ground.

London-based distributor Chiller Box has launched an advice guide to help those considering starting a business in hospitality.

MD Marios Poumpouris feels there has never been a more exciting time to start a hospitality venture and has shared his knowledge and experience within the industry.

The ‘how-to’ guide includes information on searching for locations, venues, planning, approvals, access, utilities and more. It has been created into a guide which could serve as a checklist for those in the early stages of creating a start-up or those looking to develop an existing business.

Alongside the guide, Chiller Box are sharing short information videos for those who prefer to digest guidance in this format. Each video will focus on one area from the guide, and they will be available to view on Chiller Box’s social media channels and its website.

Poumpouris said: “The business was born from an experience I had many years ago. There was little support out there when I wanted to create my first food business and it was hard to know where to begin. I decided to use my chartered surveyor and project manager experience, as well as my passion for hospitality to support others.

“Over the years we have helped hundreds of businesses to either begin or grow and there is nothing more heart-warming or satisfying than seeing someone’s business dreams become a reality. We pride ourselves on taking away the stresses and strains a design and build project can bring and this ‘how-to’ guide is that first step in providing reassurance to a new hospitality business owner.

“As an industry we need to encourage new concepts into the marketplace, as hospitality has never needed more support or positivity.”
