Chef to stand trial over catering equipment theft

A chef is due to stand trial accused of stealing medium duty catering equipment and other items from the Italian restaurant where he worked.

42-year-old Emanuele Lamanuzzi of Cheltenham is said to have taken a microwave oven, pizza-making equipment and food containers from Pirandello restaurant on September 24 and 25 last year.

He is also accused of stealing 16 bottles of alcohol, two packets of frankfurters, a packet of chicken drumsticks and a packet of prawn toasts over the same days.

At Gloucester Crown Court yesterday, Lamanuzzi denied stealing the equipment and foodstuffs from the restaurant.

The Gloucestershire Echo reported that judge Michael Harington bailed Lamanuzzi pending a case management hearing on October 31 and a trial in the week commencing February 2.
