Charvet takes aim at compact cooking market

Charvet has opened the door to potential new sales opportunities for its distributor partners by launching its first ever 700mm range of heavy duty cooking appliances.

The Pro700 Series represents the French manufacturer’s first ever crack at targeting operators which are restricted by space but still want a heavy duty offering.

The 700 suite is getting its first public airing at The Restaurant Show this week, with the first units expected to ship in January.

“There is a need for a more compact range,” explains Wayne Cuomo, managing director of Charvet Premier Ranges. “If you look at the market then you clearly have the small kitchen scenario, particularly in London, where the actual footprint of the range is getting contracted because they want to put more seats into the restaurant. There are also a lot of gastro pub-type operations that require a more compact range.”

Charvet is renowned for the quality and durability of its ranges, and the company has gone to great lengths to ensure these features haven’t been compromised in the production of the 700 Series.

Cuomo said the range is assembled the same way as the company’s 800 Series, but at a price point 10% to 15% cheaper.

“What is key is that Charvet is not going down the route of a medium duty range of kit. The 700 Series is everything you would expect from a Charvet, but in a more compact form.”

Charvet’s CEO, Pierre-Alain Augagneur has been in London this week to oversee the launch.
