Vivreau employee Dan Cureton starts a gruelling John O’Groats to Lands End cycle ride tomorrow (1 August), in memory of his friend Karl Sandwith, who lost his battle with leukaemia last year. The ride, sponsored by Vivreau to raise funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, begins on the first anniversary of his friend’s passing, with Cureton scheduled to arrive in Lands End on 10 August.
Cureton tells Catering Insight: “This is a 10 day cycle marathon that will take us from the most northern point of Scotland to the far south west of Cornwall. It is without doubt the biggest challenge that I have ever undertaken and one which I face with some trepidation.”
It is a far cry from Dan’s daily job as Vivreau’s LinkLine project manager, yet Cureton has managed to find a similarity: “LinkLine is all about networking a system through a certain location and I suppose I am now doing the same; the only problem is that the location I am networking my way through just happens to be over 850 miles.”
Vivreau is the market leader in the development and manufacture of table water bottling and purified drinking systems.
