Buying group Cedabond has confirmed the addition of five new suppliers to its offering this summer.
Foster Refrigerator, Marco Beverage Systems, Maidaid Halcyon and U Group have all struck agreements with Cedabond in recent weeks, while Regale Microwave Ovens will join the group from August 1.
Although Cedabond already has strong coverage in key areas such as refrigeration and warewashing, the organisation believes the new signings will give dealers additional coverage at a time when market conditions are improving.
“Bringing these extra brands on gives us a broader spectrum to be able to get out to the end-user and give the choice of the leading brands to our end-users,” said Barry Hallam, financial director and acting CEO of Cedabond.
Cedabond now works with 62 different brands, while the number of distributor members is up to 74 after Crystal Catering Equipment from Aberystwyth and Broadland Catering Equipment from Norfolk joined this month.
Hallam said that with growth figures of 30% and projections of increased dividends for members, 2014 was shaping up to be “one of the most productive” years that Cedabond partners have seen.
The apparent progress is even more of an achievement given that Cedabond has been without the leadership of its CEO, Phil Martin, for much of the year. He is recovering from illness and, as yet, it is not clear when he will return.
Hallam said: “On behalf of the directors and all our members and suppliers, and obviously all his friends in the industry, we wish Phil a speedy recovery from his recent illness. He has been released from hospital and is now at home recovering.”
