Enterprising and experimental chef Neil Rankin is the latest industry figure to join the 2016 CEDA Conference’s Business Day panel which is being hosted by CGA Peach’s Peter Martin.
Adam Mason, CEDA director general, commented: “We are delighted to have Neil Rankin joins us for the much anticipated Business Day Panel at the CEDA Conference.
“Neil’s skill for innovation and anticipating future tastes and styles in foodservice fits neatly with our ‘Next Generation’ theme.
“He joins Paul Moran, group MD for restaurant and bar operators Living Ventures, on the panel with further high calibre panellists due to be announced.”
Following specialism in French food and fine dining, a meeting with BBQ chef and mentor Adam Perry Lang had a huge impact on Rankin’s career, leading to him taking the head chef role at Pitt Cue Co in 2011.
He has since launched John Salt as a fusion BBQ restaurant, opened Smokehouse in Islington which is the only BBQ restaurant in the UK to have 2 AA rosettes and be in the Good Food Guide, and opened Bad Egg Diner in Moorgate, an all day diner that has a focus on eggs and showcases a lot of Rankin’s passions including Korean and BBQ food.
The CEDA 2016 Conference is being held at The Hilton, St George’s Park, Burton upon Trent on 14-15 April.
