CEDA launches free member advice line

CEDA has launched a business support helpline to give members free access to expert advice on legal, compliance and tax issues.

Provided by Croner, the telephone service covers a wide range of business critical issues including: employment law, human resources, health and safety, tax, VAT, PAYE, NIC and payroll and commercial legal matters (60 topics including commercial contracts, insolvency, data protection and property law).

Adam Mason, CEDA director general commented: “CEDA’s new business support helpline provides free invaluable advice to help member companies make the right decisions and avoid tricky situations that can adversely affect their business.

“Typically a case of unfair dismissal could take 33 hours of specialist advice and cost £6,600 and the average health and safety fine is £7,310, and this doesn’t take into account other impacts like loss of reputation, or needing to replace staff.

“We have carefully chosen a partner in Croner, part of Wolters Kluwer, a leading provider of compliance advice in the UK, to make sure CEDA gets value for money and members receive access to advice from qualified professionals when they need it. The support line will take away business headaches and potentially save members a great deal of money.”
