The Catering Equipment Distributors Association (CEDA) is offering non-members the chance to attend its forthcoming annual conference for free.
The organisation is keen to expand its membership base and wants to give companies that don’t currently belong to the group an opportunity to sample the benefits that it can offer.
CEDA’s director of technical support, Peter Kay, confirmed that distributors and service companies who are not already members are invited to the annual conference on April 3-4. If they do so, and join CEDA before the end of July, it will refund their costs for coming to conference against their membership charges, effectively making attendance free.
Kay said he hoped non-members would be compelled to take up the offer and follow in the footsteps of catering equipment distributors that have signed up to the association over the past year.
“2013 was a good year for CEDA with 16 companies joining us including multimillion pound turnover project companies and small service and installation companies,” he said. “All see the benefits of belonging to the only trade association that represents the equipment distribution and service industry.”
As well as participating in the conference activities and seminar sessions, the event will allow non-members to explore the sort of benefits afforded to members, including access to industry education and training, networking and sharing best practice, impartial advice and support and discounted business support services.
CEDA also operates a Customer Charter and Code of Good Practice, while Kay said there were tremendous advantages to be gained from belonging to a group that can call on the “collective strength and knowledge” of almost 100 catering equipment distributors, plus a host of manufacturers and service supplier partners.
“The AGM and business day are punctuated by plenty of social and networking opportunities, such as our networking dinner and charity fundraiser on the evening of the April 3 and the Grand Prix Awards and gala dinner on April 4,” he added.
