GS Group director Simeon Massey and Vision key accounts manager David Bryant picked up their joint winner honours from CEDA chair Kirstin Hatherley-Bramwell.

The CEDA Grand Prix Award 2021 for Outstanding Customer Service resulted in joint winners after judges could not separate two entries.

The two winners crowned last night at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate were GS Group for Somerset Care in the south west and Isle of Wight and Vision Commercial Kitchens for Ego Restaurants’ sites The Pomeroy in Amersham, The Schooner Inn in Penarth, and the Running Mare in Chelmsford.

GS Group has over 20 years’ experience of working with Somerset Care Homes. The dealer also provides service and maintenance of equipment including breakdown cover for all equipment, refrigeration and extraction 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Somerset Care’ chief executive Gary Ridgewood praised GS Group’s efforts, saying: “We are grateful for the organised way everyone has worked together to get this project completed in a very short space of time. The home will be providing essential care and support to extremely vulnerable residents and we would not be in a position to do this without your help.”

While Vision was rewarded for partnering with Ego Restaurants, a family of Mediterranean-inspired pubs and restaurants, which currently has 24 sites.

The Heywood-based dealer was involved in three projects for Ego in 2020: Ego at The Pomeroy in Amersham, Ego at The Schooner Inn in Penarth and Ego at Running Mare in Chelmsford. As well as this, throughout all of their units, the distributor provides all of the chain’s service requirements, including preventative maintenance and break down service as well as providing its one-off pieces of equipment when needed.

Ego Restaurants’ executive group chef Neil Morris said: “Vision Commercial Kitchens have a team of superb designers and project managers that understand the needs of the business. With good, swift communication and transparency, Ego and Vision have a great relationship to deliver the best possible kitchens we need.”

Vision was also shortlisted in this category for its work at HMS Host in Manchester airport’s terminal 2.
