CEDA explores kitchen design on latest E-Learning platform

CEDA’s new E-Learning platform is already making a splash with dealers, as GastroNorth’s project administrator Shona Grant explained: “The E-Learning facility from CEDA has provided information which our staff may not have been fully aware of previously.

“The sales, account management and customer service modules have been particularly useful to our new sales engineers as it has explained how to overcome some objections from clients and selling to different personality types to facilitate successful sales.

“The health and safety modules were useful to our design engineers as they were beginning to attend sites and these modules made them aware of any potential risks. Adam and Fiona at CEDA have helped with any queries or questions we have had when using the platform, ensuring the whole process runs smoothly.”

To celebrate the launch, CEDA has enlisted top chefs Chris Galvin and John Campbell, and leading academic David Foskett, to talk in a series of videos about the opportunities and challenges involved in the design of professional kitchens.

Chris Galvin and brother Jeff, known for pushing the boundaries in their fine dining restaurant and innovative pub businesses, join Campbell, award winning Michelin starred chef at the Woodspeen Restaurant and Cookery School, to answer a range of questions from Foskett on topics including the principals of good design, getting value from design and what the future might hold for commercial kitchen design.

Adam Mason, CEDA director general commented: “We are honoured to have Chris, John and David on the front page on kitchen design on CEDA’s new E-Learning platform. The platform proved to be a huge success in 2015/2016 for our membership and so we have invested significantly in a new platform, new content and wider accessibility for 2017.

“Outstanding kitchen design is a fundamental of a successful foodservice operation and something our members and partners deliver every day, but our new Kitchen Design Module videos add real insights from two chefs with huge experience of kitchen design from the operator’s perspective.

“The new CEDA E-Learning platform is now available completely free with access to all its modules for our members and all their staff members for the next year.”
