The Catering Equipment Distributors Association (CEDA) has launched a document that certifies proper maintenance has been carried out in commercial kitchen environments.
The association has created a ‘Gas Safety Inspection Sheet’, which engineers and operators can use to prove that gas equipment is being maintained to a professional and competent standard.
In the event of something going wrong, it is thought that both engineers and customers will be able to present the sheet and its accompanying certificate to demonstrate they have met the key industry guidelines for maintaining equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
CEDA hopes the Gas Safety Inspection Sheet will become the “standard document” for the industry when it comes to ensuring safety procedures are followed for commercial catering.
CEDA developed the guidelines following consultation with the Gas Safe Register and CESA.
