CCS strikes warranty parts deal with Fagor

Commercial Catering Spares is expanding its partnership with Fagor Industrial by taking on the after-sales care for all warranty parts in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The arrangement, which will be officially announced at this month’s Host exhibition, will see CCS begin stocking an extra 200 Fagor lines in order to be able to manage all warranty parts requests from service engineers in future.

Spanish manufacturer Fagor is aiming to ramp up its business in the UK and wants to make sure it has the right after-sales support infrastructure in place first. It is currently in the process of launching new combi ovens and dishwashing equipment.

Jonathan Booth, managing director of CCS, said the company was excited about extending its alliance with a brand that is well-established in Europe and has plenty of room to grow in the UK.

He said the tie-up marked the first time CCS had ever entered into a spares warranty partnership with an equipment manufacturer.

“We have got exclusive UK distributorships with spare parts, but we haven’t got any other warranty partnerships although we would be happy to do it,” he said. “If you think of the average warranty cost for any manufacturer, it is only 1.5% to 2%, so the amount of spares you get back is not huge. But you still have to organise it and get it set up properly to make sure it works.”

Booth said one of the main changes for CCS would be that it now needs to invest in stocking more of Fagor’s current product spare parts, rather than the items that are outside warranty.

CCS says it will be able to provide one- to two-day dispatch on parts, all backed up by full after-sales support with a designated line to its fully-trained technical team.
