One of London’s leading nightspots is having a sparkling start to the New Year thanks to work being carried out by distributor CCE and manufacturer Meiko.
The London-based Groucho chain, known for attracting celebrity clientele, is currently undergoing a refurbishment that will see Meiko glasswashers installed in six of its bars.
CCE has revamped two of Groucho’s six bars so far.
“Groucho has six bars and expensive glassware,” explains Andy Woods, business development manager at CCE. “They were doing a lot of work hand-polishing they should not need to, which caused breakages as well as wasting labour. We explained about Meiko’s GiO reverse osmosis water treatment technology built into their glasswashing machines.”
CEE took Groucho on a site visit to a prominent restaurant and bar in Mayfair to see a previously installed GiO machine.
“There they saw how the GiO machines helped to cut down breakages of the fine glassware, reduced the double handling and provided spot-free results,” continued Woods.
The Groucho Club selected the FV40.2G-GiO glasswasher for its bars as it fitted a standard under counter opening. The company also signed up to Meiko’s three-year ‘No Bills’ support and maintenance package.
The Groucho club opened in 1985 as ‘the antidote to the traditional club’. It took its name from Groucho Marx who remarked that he would never join a club that would accept him as a member.
