C&C Catering Equipment and consultant Tricon have partnered on American burger brand Shake Shack’s eighth UK outlet.

The site opened in Cambridge Circus on the edge of Soho, London, at the end of October.

Tricon’s brief was to take Shake Shack’s blueprint foodservice design and to “make it better”. This posed a challenge as the existing design had already been put into successful operation elsewhere in the capital.

The Tricon team carried out a detailed re-engineering of the blueprint, culminating in what it feels is an improved operational layout and a more competitive equipment supply.

Tricon’s team then oversaw the tender and construction phase which C&C completed.

The consultant’s project director Jason Farrer said: “Following extensive visits to some of Shake Shack’s existing sites to gain knowledge in regard to its brand standards and design features, we set to work in producing our remodelled design and construction information.

“Working to a very tight time-scale we were able to transform a tired looking existing Italian restaurant into this exciting, fresh new addition to London’s Theatre Land.”

Guests at the restaurant can expect an innovative menu as the brand’s ‘Signature Concrete’ milkshakes are exclusive to each location and are presented alongside its traditional dishes such as a Smoke Shack Burger and the Shroom Burger (vegetarian).
