C&C Catering Equipment will this week complete the first phase of a major catering refurbishment at the hotel and restaurant run by Michelin-starred chef Nigel Haworth.
The Northcote has been closed since 17 June, but will re-open this weekend following five weeks of building works that have seen a temporary kitchen installed ahead of a major kitchen refurbishment project later this year.
C&C says its work there over the past month is part of a 12-month development plan that includes a completely new contemporary kitchen for the main restaurant, a specialist development kitchen with cookery school, a redesign of the bar area and cocktail lounge, and an extension to the hotel to create more bedrooms.
C&C met with Haworth back in January and he commissioned the job after inspecting the work it did for the Chester Grosvenor Hotel last year.
C&C says it has worked closely with him and the operational staff to understand the specific requirements for their areas of service, resulting in bespoke fabrication where every millimetre of space is planned.
Electrolux equipment and, in particular, a bespoke Therma cooking suite, has been chosen and the design has given head chef Lisa Allen and her brigade dedicated preparation and service areas. The installation is scheduled to take place in October.
Northcote is situated in the heart of the Ribble Valley and puts a strong emphasis on products from the local Lancashire area. The restaurant has a won multitude of awards over the years and held a Michelin star since 1996.
Haworth, who is joint proprietor of the business with Craig Bancroft, said that C&C’s professionalism gave him “full confidence” in the work it is carrying out.
