C&C Catering Equipment has gained ‘Building Confidence’ accreditation, a new health and safety standard.
Developed by global procurement service business Achilles, Building Confidence is a supplier pre-qualification and accreditation service for the UK construction industry.
Achilles works to identify, qualify, evaluate and monitor suppliers on behalf of major organisations worldwide.
C&C’s managing director, Peter Kitchin, believes the new accreditation will further promote and support the Chester-based company’s existing contracts as well as attract new business with other major contractors who are using the service.
“We have a great collection of industry awards and accreditations,” he said. “They demonstrate why we’re among the best at what we do. The Building Confidence standard is important as it is still rare in our sector and will help us keep at the forefront of our industry.”
To achieve the accreditation, C&C completed a rigorous pre-qualification process covering its current systems for health & safety, the environment and occupational health. This was then reviewed remotely before an Achilles auditor spent two days within the business carrying out an audit of these systems.
C&C is now included on the tender list of other major companies who are also part of the scheme, such as McLaren, Sir Robert McAlpine, Laing O’Rourke and Balfour Beatty.
