The new Cavell Facilities Group will continue to offer a full package of services including design and equipment supply.

Cambridgeshire-based distributor, Cavell Catering Equipment Services, is now under new ownership after undergoing a management buyout.

Martin Tucker, who has worked in the business for many years, and his team have bought the company from previous MD, Andrew Jones.

Jones is also in charge of Huntingdon-headquartered dealer, BI Catering Equipment Services. BI acquired Cavell in its previous guise of Peachmans Catering Equipment Services in September 2015 from RG Carter Building, and ran it as a separate entity.

The dealer was rebranded as Cavell Catering Equipment following company naming confusion in the local market in 2018.

With the latest development, the new company will now operate as Cavell Facilities Group. The distributor will still offer a full package of services including design, equipment supply, responsive and preventative servicing, and full install facilities.

Jones commented: “Martin has been instrumental in the growth and success of Cavell Catering Equipment Services. We are confident that the high level of service will continue with Martin and his team.”

He detailed that BI will continue to offer support to the newly formed business regarding any previous historical requirements or warranty work including sales and projects, as well as assisting Tucker with the BI engineers team if the need arises.

Jones added: “This has been a big decision for both the current management team and Martin. The past 18 months has been challenging for everyone and it has highlighted that we need to concentrate on each business individually as each has a differing set of requirements to allow further growth.”

Furthermore, Jones will be continuing as MD of BI and that company’s structure will remain the same. He told Catering Insight: “This year’s figures for BI closed on a high, having won complete projects at two prestigious colleges in Cambridge totalling £1.1m.”
