Catering spares ace spins into laundry

Commercial Catering Spares has made its first serious move into the world of laundry parts, Catering Insight can reveal.

While the company has sold some laundry components in the past, it now intends to make a real beeline for the market by becoming an Electrolux laundry spares distributor.

Managing director, Jonathan Booth, says it is a logical step given that more catering service companies are covering laundry calls.

“Requirements from the engineers and customers we supply coupled with the growing trend for both manufacturers and engineers within the industry to cover catering and laundry has prompted the move,” he explained.

Booth said the partnership was a “natural progression” of the relationship that CCS already has with Electrolux on the foodservice equipment spares side.

“The laundry spares are not too dissimilar to the spare parts that we currently supply to the catering industry and parts identification comes with ease from our dedicated technical team,” he said.

CCS wants to be seen as a one-stop-shop among catering customers that supply laundry equipment, but it also plans to target companies that solely deal in laundry repairs which it doesn’t currently have any relationship with.

Booth added that the laundry spares deal with Electrolux was unlikely to be a one-off.

“We plan to grow in this field as many other manufacturers cover laundry as well,” he revealed. “Our next laundry project will be with Fagor.”
