The Catering Insight Awards is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year with a bang.
As usual, the event will celebrate the cream of the UK catering equipment industry, both distributors and suppliers, but we have shaken up the dealer categories to shine a brighter light on the distributor marketplace across as many areas as possible, and we have engaged a landmark venue to host the ceremony.
The 2019 event will be held on Thursday 28 November at the grand art deco style Banking Hall in the heart of the City of London. Designed in the 1930s, this Grade II listed building served as the headquarters of Lloyd’s Bank until 2002.
Awards guests will be treated to a lavish drinks reception in the upstairs Counting Room, before being invited downstairs to the Main Hall for the top class three course meal and awards ceremony.
A total of 16 accolades will be presented this year, including three new distributor categories.
The first of these is Distributor of the Year – Business Development. This category will celebrate those distributors which have significantly moved their business forwards over the last 12 months, whether by producing outstanding financial performance, investing in facilities, equipment or staff, or putting into place company-wide action plans which have brought hugely positive results.
The next addition is Distributor of the Year – Marketing & Strategy. This award will honour distributors across the UK which have actioned innovative marketing campaigns to stay at the cutting edge of the industry, as well as those which have devised well thought-out, original strategies to maintain and further their market position going forwards.
And the final brand new category is Distributor of the Year – Corporate Social Responsibility. This accolade will recognise those UK dealers who are outstanding corporate citizens. This could be through their work to be efficient and environmentally aware, or demonstrating excellent health and safety standards, or for those who have thrown their backing behind important charitable initiatives.
To make room for these categories in the awards programme, we have folded the regional dealer trophies into two areas: Distributor of the Year, North of the UK, which will be presented to a catering equipment dealer based anywhere from the Midlands northwards in England, and across Scotland and Northern Ireland, who shines in 2019; and Distributor of the Year, South of the UK, which will honour an outstanding dealer in the south of England or across Wales.
The rest of the dealer categories: Distributor of the Year – Project Management, Digital Initiative of the Year and Service & Maintenance Provider of the Year remain unchanged, as will headline honours, Distributor of the Year – Nationwide and the Lifetime Achievement Award, honouring someone who has dedicated their career to the catering equipment industry.
The supplier accolades also stick to the proven successful formula, comprising trophies for Sustainability, Service & Support, Light Equipment, Heavy Equipment, Business Development and Training & Education.
The nomination process will open later this year.
Following the main ceremony there will once again be a now-legendary After-Party, with details revealed in due course.
