Catering Insight Awards 2018 winner: Supplier of the Year, Sustainability

The Catering Insight Supplier of the Year, Sustainability Award honours manufacturers that are championing environmental product development and energy efficient products, and our 2018 winner can certainly be said to do that.

An extremely close battle was fought in the voting, with the lead changing hands several times. However, for the second year in succession, Hoshizaki triumphed in the end.

Hoshizaki’s flagship sustainable range in its Gram portfolio is Superior Plus, which delivers low energy consumption of just 285kW/year.

The manufacturer also ensures its own processes are green, prioritising the way it works and reducing its impact on the environment at every stage.

It has implemented a number of strategic initiatives such the Hoshizaki ‘Eco Plan’, a long-running programme, upheld around the world by its regional branches, which is intended to counter its demand on the environment, with sustainable solutions and ecological actions.

Hoshizaki’s UK national sales manager Roz Scourfield was on hand last night to pick up the trophy. She commented: “It caps off a hard year for us where we have been pushing the energy efficient and green agenda against the tide. Alongside that, we are bringing our HC models along and it is in contrast to what other manufacturers are doing, so we are very pleased.”
