The Digital Initiative of the Year category, sponsored by Hoshizaki, honoured a distributor, either traditional or online, who has really embraced the digital medium – whether it is for sales, service, technology, showcasing their capabilities or an innovative social media campaign.
Voting was close in this category, with three votes separating first and second places, but Gratte Brothers Catering Equipment eventually came out on top.
And the distributor really has recently upped its technological game, investing in new telephony, allowing it to move to digital phone- and video calls.
Plus it has brought in tablets, laptops and smartphones for the sales and project teams so that they can more often work remotely. It also rolled out the Call2Field service management software for the 36-strong engineer team, migrating from a spreadsheet-based system, to this fully digital and online portal.
All engineers’ vans were installed with location trackers and are now digitally stocked.
Gratte Brothers sales director Paul Gilhooly picked up the trophy, saying: “This is just absolutely brilliant. We’ve worked really hard, so this is for the team at Gratte Brothers.
“From service and maintenance through to design and sales we have looked at every facet of the business and try to innovate and become more efficient to give our customers better service.”
