The Catering Insight Awards business development award recognises manufacturers or suppliers which have significantly developed their marketing or sales channels, establishing and progressing strong relationships with dealers, as well as providing added support or market development initiatives.

Caterparts has increased stockholding to assist engineers and end users over the summer shut down for multiple manufacturers. The firm is the warranty spares provider for Maidaid Halcyon equipment and as such has an unrivalled stockholding of original parts. As a result of feedback from customers, all parts catalogues are on a free to request USB key. It has also produced a quantity break brochure for customers who wish to bulk purchase items. Plus it expanded and developed social media marketing to help keep connected to its customers.
Euro Catering has this year launched a unique Culinary Centre, created in such a way as to make life easier for dealers to sell equipment to its clients, whilst also being able to physically use the equipment with the in-house development chef and test recipes and functionality. A whole new unit was rented so that an exhibition hall environment could be created within, zoning equipment into combi-ovens, suites, Italian pizza ovens, food manufacturing equipment, hot-handling, bakery and deli equipment. Plus it has invested in a full-time distributor sales manager.
Precision Refrigeration’s business is up 30% in the past year, with exports accounting for 40% of production. As a consequence, the manufacturer has embarked on a major business development programme which will see production capacity double in the next 2 years. It’s also in the process of recruiting more factory operatives, engineers and support staff. One of Precision’s key successes has been the development of radical products that have captured the market’s imagination such as Retro Refrigeration. Its R&D department is working on new models to extend the range.
RH Hall launched its 40th Anniversary Edition Catalogue in 2018, offering the industry unbiased advice on thousands of products and providing an invaluable tool for dealers when quoting the ideal catering solution. This is backed up by internal and external sales teams, many of whom have passed the CFSP exam and all sharing a wealth of knowledge. Dedicated customer service and spares teams ensure after-sales support is provided. The internal marketing team invests thousands on advertising and PR for all exclusive brands, working with dealers to convert leads into sales.
This year, Trak announced a rebrand from original company name of TrakHupfer to make a fresh start in the UK, establishing it as a UK-based company operating under the Hupfer group, its German-based parent firm. This move was made to put more of a focus on the UK foodservice market, delivering a new vision for customers and to delivering an increased quality of product and service. Following on from this development, Trak now boasts dedicated UK marketing and undertakes regular sales and management training to boost the brand to dealers.
