The Catering Insight Emerging Distributor of the Year Award was open to kitchen houses that have been trading for 5 years or less but have made an impact quickly.
This can certainly be said of this year’s winner iFour Hospitality Design, which not even 2 years old but has won this category for a second time in succession.
The firm has had an extremely successful second year in business, growing by 50% and working with a number of Michelin-starred chefs. This year it even started producing its own custom cook lines.
The growth has enabled the distributor to invest in new staff members including projects assistants, and has launched a southern office to manage London projects. Following the London Bridge terror attack, the firm even paid for engineers to go to a client’s site to get the restaurant back in business within 24 hours.
iFour director Paul Martin reacted to the win, saying: “It feels great. Two great years, great support from Catering Insight, which is for me the go-to publication in our industry. We don’t support a lot but we support these guys because they support us a lot.
“Next year we’re going after the big guys and the big categories.”
