Catering Insight Awards 2016 winner: Supplier of the Year, Sustainability

Gram’s Glen Roberts picked up the sustainability award from Promedia Publishing editorial director, Andrew Seymour.

The Catering Insight Supplier of the Year, Sustainability Award honours manufacturers that are championing environmental product development and energy efficient products, and our 2016 winner can certainly be said to do that.

Gram triumphed, as its commitment to sustainability cannot be doubted thanks to its series of Go Green debates to educate the industry about energy efficiency, particularly in its own refrigeration sphere. It has also commissioned the 2016 Gram Green Paper, researching the latest attitudes towards sustainability across the foodservice sector.

Furthermore, this year it added four new ‘eco’ models to its freezer chest range, said to save up to 46% of energy, among other green product developments.

Gram’s UK MD, Glenn Roberts, was on hand last night to pick up the trophy and commented: “It’s very pleasing. For Gram to win this for sustainability is backing up all the hard work we’ve done over many years to help promote sustainability in our sector, driving energy efficiency, build quality and supporting it the right way for the market place and to get that recognition from our supply chain is fantastic and a real privilege.”
