The managing director of UK kitchen ventilation manufacturer Mansfield Pollard is in the running for a leading ‘Women in Business’ award.
Joanna Robinson has been shortlisted in the ‘Corporate Leader of the Year’ category of the Women in Business Awards 2015 and will find out next week whether she has won.
Robinson joined the company as financial controller in 2002 and has risen through the ranks of the Bradford-based outfit to her current position, which she was promoted to last year.
The first 18 months of her leadership have seen her vision for the business bring about a number of significant changes to the organisation and she continues to drive positive change in what remains a male-dominated industry.
The company now employs 160 staff — its highest number ever — sales are up by more than 30% to £17m in its last fiscal yearand major business wins have seen its products providing air management solutions in locations the UK and abroad.
“I’m tremendously flattered to have been shortlisted for Corporate Leader of the Year,” she said. “I strive to apply the same values at work as I would to any other aspect of my life and this includes having a well-balanced, fair and honest approach to business and a passion for developing the organisation and its people."
The Women in Business Awards was set up by networking organisation Forward Ladies. It aims to highlight the entrepreneurial individuals who have defied tough economic conditions to create thriving enterprises.
