Catering equipment marketing taskforce formed


Marketing experts from a range of catering equipment companies have agreed to pool their knowledge for a new taskforce set up by CEDA.

The Marketing Task Group (MTG) has been created by the association to develop its marketing strategy and tactics, as well as add bottom line value for members and partners.

It comprises six individuals that are either CEDA board members or work for dealer members or supplier partners, with external support from CEDA PR advisor Matt Rowlands. The six are:

– Helen Davis, Catering Design Group
– Stephen Hewitt, Design Catering Equipment
– Glen Crossland, Dawson MMP
– Laura Kirk, Foster Refrigeration

Vita Whitaker, CEDA’s deputy chairman, says the organisation has made a conscious decision to create the MTG to define and market the CEDA points of difference so that it stands out as the first port of call to end-users, attracts the best catering equipment distributors as members and offers beneficial relationships to manufacturing and supplier partners.

“The MTG reflects CEDA’s commitment to involve members and partners at the heart of the association with other task forces in place covering technical issues, education and training and legal/regulatory issues like BIM,” she said. “We are growing CEDA with our members and partners direct involvement so it supports their business objectives and strikes home with end-user customers.”

Whitaker added that the collective talent it has assembled is already helping to drive forward CEDA’s corporate marketing, website and social media presence. Work has also commenced on providing marketing toolkits for members and partners.
