Catering equipment injures worker in Glasgow

Peter Hartshorne-Jones is facing trial for murdering his wife.

A piece of catering equipment has seriously injured a man’s arm last week in Glasgow.

The man was delivering the catering equipment on Jamaica Street in the city centre when the accident happened, according to the Glasgow Evening Times. His arm was pinned underneath the falling equipment.

His colleague ran to a nearby fast food outlet to raise the alarm. A pick-up truck was parked outside the fast food restaurant, however, it was not known if it was linked to the accident.

A source told the Evening Times: “His arm was trapped by the falling equipment. He was taken to hospital and he’ll need surgery on the arm.”

It is understood the injured man was working alongside a fellow contractor.

Catering Insight spoke to the Health and Safety Executive, and a spokeswoman confirmed that it is investigating the incident, but was unable to reveal details of the companies or individuals involved.
