Isle of Wight-based distributor Cater Wight chose Locher equipment from Cuisinequip to be key parts of a new food outlet’s cooking capability at the Robin Hill Country Park on the island.
Robin Hill, a mix of country park and theme park, attracts a range of visitors for summer and seasonal events. The venue approached Cater Wight to design and install a new permanent food outlet with production kitchen, based on electric-only equipment, as well as supplying three other outlets in the park’s woodland.
Cater Wight director Dave Smart detailed: “Key to the brief was to build-in flexibility to reliably deliver ever-changing menus from Chinese New Year celebrations to Indian cuisine and for events like Halloween etc.
“We had received information from Cuisinequip about its Locher modular cooking systems and after looking at several options we chose a Locher free-standing griddle and Locher infrared hobs for the project.
“During installation in the summer our engineers noted the quality of the German-engineered Locher equipment and it has gone on to perform really well for the client alongside other equipment including Valentine Evo 2525 fryers.”
Cuisinequip’s account manager Jon Bartlett worked with Cater Wight on the Robin Hill installation. He said: “The rapid heat-up and energy efficiency of the griddle and hobs that we supplied to Cater Wight are ideal for operations like Robin Hill where adaptable cooking systems with low residual heat and a small footprint are needed to produce a wide variety of high quality dishes. We are delighted that they and their client are pleased with them.”
