Cash for troops when Advantage sells kit

Advantage Catering Equipment is aiming to do its bit for British troops abroad this Christmas by making a charity donation each time it sells an item of catering equipment.

The Kent-based distributor today launched a campaign that will see it give money to Help for Heroes for every purchase made from its listed suppliers between now and the end of the month.

Additionally, its main manufacturing partners have pledged to match any donations that it makes.

Nick Place, sales manager at Advantage Catering Equipment, said it was the first time the company had ever done something like this.

“This is a first for us as we have never openly supported a charity outside of the catering industry before,” he said. “But now, having a family member serving abroad we can see the difficulties that our men and women face. We are asking people to spare a thought for the kids and families that have loved ones serving in the Armed Forces, more than that spare a thought for those that have lost so much after serving.”

Place said he hoped the campaign would grab customers’ attention as it will not cost them any extra money. All donations will come solely from Advantage’s own pocket based on the orders it takes.

He added that should anybody want to support the campaign by simply making a straightforward donation they could also do that by contacting the company on 01304 827272 or by emailing here.

The campaign gets underway today, with the company hoping to raise awareness through its website and social media.
