Cambridge catering equipment firm eyes sales boom


A Cambridgeshire catering equipment firm is aiming to double its turnover next year, just four years after it was set up as a back-garden business.

Haverhill-based Olive Branch Catering Equipment is currently making £1m a year from supplying and fitting catering equipment to a range of customers throughout the country.

The company’s founder, Phil Alexander, is now targeting revenues of £2.5m next year and aims to be making £8m annually by 2016.

“We’ve pretty much gone from strength to strength — there’s been a lot of doom and gloom at the moment which can be a bit depressing, but we’ve come through the recession and are getting stronger year after year”, Alexander told the Haverhill Echo.

“I knew it would be a success and we offer such a high level of customer service that people appreciate that,” he added.

Olive Branch Catering Equipment currently employs six staff, but Alexander hopes to add a further four salesmen, three project managers and a fleet of engineers over the next five years, he told the newspaper.
