Buying consortium ENSE marked its fourth anniversary with a gala dinner during its spring 2016 conference.
At the Queens Hotel in Leeds last night, seven awards were presented, as well as the announcement of which distributors won ENSE’s Hotelympia challenge – visiting all 15 of its supplier members’ stands at the trade show.
The winners of the challenge, receiving an Apple Watch each, were: KCM Catering Equipment MD Alistair White and sales manager Steve Palmer; Inox Equip’s project manager, Chris Hay; Fatboys Catering Equipment MD, Chris Neeld, and commercial director, Clive Yarwood; BBCS sales manager, Simon Parry, ScoMac’s national sales manager, Jason Crook; and Archers’ Lorna Tyrer and Robyne Wheatland.
Kicking off the awards proceedings was a new category for this year, the Commitment category. Each supporting at least 75% of ENSE suppliers, three distributors shared this honour for 2015: GastroNorth, Francis Catering Equipment and Court Catering Equipment.
The 2015 supplier Newcomer of the Year award was scooped by Manitowoc, while Bournville Catering Equipment won the equivalent distributor category, supporting at least 50% of ENSE suppliers.
The Light Equipment Supplier of the Year accolade was won by EAIS, as it grew its buying group business 23% this year, while the Heavy Equipment Supplier of the Year title, voted for by ENSE’s distributor members, went to Blue Seal, thanks to its 20% growth within ENSE.
The 2015 Directors Award, presented to a smaller distributor which still showed over 50% commitment to the buying consortium’s suppliers, was won by Equipt to Cook.
Finally, supplier members voted Shine Food Machinery as the winner of the main Distributor of the Year accolade, as it supported 70% of ENSE suppliers during 2015.
