Burco has launched a new piece of catering equipment that utilises the manufacturing experience and capabilities of its brand, but looks to propel the company into a new sector of the foodservice market.

The company has launched a commercial mobile handwash, allowing caterers to provide a comprehensive hand hygiene solution on a flexible basis.

The mobile handwash is designed to be self-contained, requiring no mains water supply, just an electricity source. Burco believes it will be ideal for caterers working at festivals and other outdoor events, in factories or at temporary events such as exhibitions.

Operators simply fill the well with clean, cold water, before plugging in to the electricity point and leaving to heat up. The water is then maintained at a temperature of 42°c for continued user safety and comfort. During use, the waste water drains into a second basin where it is collected for disposal at a later time.

This design ensures the unit does not need plumbing into waste or mains water and is easy to empty when needed.

It contains enough water for more than 85 handwashes and with the addition of large, heavy duty wheels, the appliance is easy to transport and ideal for use in busy sites.

“With the introduction of the mobile handwash, operators can be confident that the quality and consistency they have become accustomed to with existing products in the Burco range have been implanted in the new appliance,” said Diane Ho, commercial product manager for Glen Dimplex Professional Appliances.
