Catering equipment maintenance provider McFarlane Telfer is taking its services overseas with the opening of a branch office in the Middle East.
The Maidenhead-based outfit, which has been offering preventative and reactive maintenance for commercial kitchen equipment for more than 20 years, has established an operation in Dubai.
With the Dubai hospitality market returning to strong growth again following the recession, McFarlane Telfer believes it is the ideal time to offer its expertise to hotels and restaurant businesses eager to keep their catering equipment maintained.
George Roberts-Smith, who worked at McFarlane Telfer’s UK headquarters previously, has been appointed general manager of the Middle East division, having moved to the UAE at the end of last year to lay the foundations for the business.
“We’re delighted to have had a great response from our partners and friends in the industry at the recent Gulfood show, but now the real work starts,” he said. “We are looking forward to using our technical and service heritage and providing a top-quality service – responsive, conclusive – and communicative – professional and friendly.”
Keith Warren, director of CESA, said it was encouraging to see another British firm setting up on the ground in the UAE. “Along with our partners at UKTI, we are delighted to have been able to help in that process – we look forward to seeing this specialist business grow in Dubai and support our global manufacturers throughout the Middle East,” he commented.
