A number of UK-based fabricators are lining up to help in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
One of these, Gloucester-based Target Catering Equipment, underlined it is on hand supporting the NHS, healthcare, care and public sectors during this time of national emergency with the manufacture of medical grade stainless steel equipment such as tabling, cabinets, sinks and wash stations.
With over 30 year’s design and manufacture experience, Target has the ability to design, manufacture and supply complete hygienic wash systems including; commercial dishwashing systems, mattress washing systems, bed pan washer disinfector systems, BA mask cleaning washer disinfector systems and multi-purpose washer disinfector systems which combine machines specifically approved for the removal of pathogens including those of coronavirus.
David Pedrette, MD at Target said: “In a bid to help support the UK’s key workers in the fight against Covid-19 we are extending our manufacturing capabilities and prioritising all orders from the NHS, healthcare, care and public sectors, and military, who are all working so hard and doing such a great job of looking after everything.”
“With regards to the operation of our business, the safety of our staff, customers and suppliers is of upmost importance to us and we continue to follow government guidelines. With staff that are able to do so, working remotely from home, and those that are to continue working within the factory, operating in line with strict health and safety regulations and advice provided by the government and NHS.”
Likewise, Northumberland’s Stellex Manufacturing, MD Tony Chamberlain confirmed: “As a critical supplier to key industries – Pharmaceutical, Medical and Food Production – it is imperative that Stellex continue to manufacture for as long as possible in order to support these vital industries and the supply chain that serves them; by working collaboratively we hope to get through these challenging times together.
“Here at Stellex we are following guidelines and advice provided by the Government and Public Health England and are constantly monitoring the evolving situation and adjusting our business procedures accordingly and, whilst we remain open, our factory and offices are no longer able to accept visitors. We aim to continue to process customer orders in a timely manner but as you will appreciate, estimating delivery times can be difficult.”
While over at competitor CED Fabrications, sales director Stuart Russell posted on LinkedIn: “Due to the rapidly evolving situation surrounding Covid-19, which as we know is constantly changing, but as of now, we have kept on a small number of staff to help meet the needs of our customers, whilst taking all the necessary precautions to protect our team.
“We are still able to accept orders and make shipments, but our manufacturing capability will be reduced until such times as it is safe to fully re-open the factory and offices. We have healthy stocks of Tournus, quick service, drop in displays and multi decks, so we are in a good position to meet any demand you have during these difficult times.”
