Lincat’s sales and marketing director, Rob Gibson, is about to leave the company to establish his own foodservice equipment supply business.
The new venture, Kitchen and Restaurant Projects Ltd, will focus on sourcing and supplying niche products to UK businesses, whilst it will also be supplied as part of a broader solution.
Gibson said: “I won’t simply be selling equipment. Instead I will be offering advice on the best equipment to meet individual requirements. Our intention is to offer the best advice, products, and customer care to suit every operation, from an independent caterer to multi-chain operator.”
Gibson trained at the College of Food and Domestic Arts in Birmingham, before spending his formative years opening and running restaurants for the Forte organisation. He then ran his own catering company and restaurant, before moving into catering equipment sales.
He added: “I have wanted to start my own business for many years. I believe I have lots of experience to share and that I can help catering businesses of all kinds to find their competitive advantage.
“I have, of course, enjoyed my time at Lincat, it’s a great business with a fantastic portfolio of equipment. I’m certain it won’t be too long before I’m recommending Lincat as part of a new scheme.”
Lincat managing director, Chris Jones, concluded: “Rob Gibson has played a huge part in Lincat’s development over the last 18 years. He joined our sales team in 1999 and went on to focus on the development of national accounts, before being appointed as sales and marketing director.
“He has been instrumental in making our heavy-duty Opus 800 range the equipment of first choice for many of the UK’s largest pub, hotel and restaurant chains. So, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rob for everything he has done for Lincat, and wish him all the very best in his new venture. Good luck Rob.”
