Catering equipment component supplier Oxford Hardware has put pen to paper on a deal to take over Mobile UK Limited, a specialist in crockery dispensing systems.
Mobile UK was established by Mike Connell in 1997 and has been a supplier to Oxford Hardware since 2004.
Despite the challenging economic climate, the opportunity to take over the business was too good to turn down and will enhance its own offering to the market.
Mr Connell, who will continue to work part-time with the business following the change of ownership, said customers should place orders as usual until 28 January 2021 and after that date through Oxford Hardware.
He commented: “Oxford Hardware has been a valued customer for 16 years, so it’s clear our company and products are a great fit. I’ve noted their high service level and trust it will be a seamless transition for our customers.”
George Bousfield, sales manager at Oxford Hardware, added: “Mobile’s reputation for quality and value gave us great confidence in the decision to expand our product offering. We look forward to meeting our new clientele and providing exceptional service as always.”
Oxford Hardware was set-up in 2001 and holds numerous agencies and distributorships as well as developing its own products. The business, which was acquired Kason Industries in the USA two years ago, supplies a wide range of catering and refrigeration components in the UK and also exports to over 32 countries.
Kason CEO, David Katz-Doft, backed the Mobile UK takeover: “We are excited about this acquisition in that it illustrates our determination to succeed regardless of difficult economic times. Kason is a family-owned and operated company with local values and global impact. We are proud to have supported our employees’ and customers’ needs for 95 years and look forward to continued success for many years to come.”
