Nisbets has now acquired servicing firm, UK Engineers.

Catering equipment giant Nisbets has acquired Cornwall-headquartered servicing firm, UK Engineers.

Nisbets says its first acquisition in over 5 years is a strategic step to reinforce its board’s commitment to providing the highest standards of service, speed and consistency across the UK, European, Australian and New Zealand catering and hospitality sectors.

UK Engineers is a nationwide provider with over 25 years’ track record in connecting independent, qualified engineers with professional customers to service heavy equipment in the catering and hospitality sector.

Paul and Laraine Holloway founded the firm, with Mark and Lisa Overton also currently serving as directors.

The maintenance firm’s scalable technology platform supports its network of 500 dedicated contractors, providing full UK coverage for heavy equipment sales both within and beyond warranty.

Nisbets believes UK Engineers complements its omni-channel approach through the internet, retail stores, telephone, its new concept trade counters, and its sales team infrastructure. UK Engineers already works very closely with Space Catering and Nisbets design, install and technical support teams.

The aim of the deal is to preserve the hard work that the parties report has already happened with these relationships whilst using UK Engineers’ technology platform to extend Nisbets’ service offering and to drive new synergies in their installation and warranty work.

UK Engineers will continue to trade as a separate entity under its existing management team led by MD Paul Holloway.

Peter Sephton, Nisbets’ vice chairman said: “This acquisition is our first in over 5 years and is made despite the uncertain trading conditions caused by the pandemic, demonstrating our absolute commitment to the catering and hospitality sector. Technology is fundamental to our ability to maintain high growth for our businesses and this acquisition will enable us to enhance our service offering further.”

While Robin White, MD of Nisbets UK and Ireland, commented: “Nisbets customers expect reliability, speed and quality of service from us. It creates a ‘one stop shop’ experience for customers and next day and in some areas, same day delivery. This acquisition supports our service business’ growth plans focused on delivering excellent service for both light and heavy equipment. We look forward to working with the UK Engineers team.”

UK Engineers’ Paul Holloway added: “We are excited to have the backing of such a significant and respected organisation. Our team is extremely positive about UK Engineers’ future as part of Nisbets.

“Whilst it will be ‘business as usual’ for our customers, staff, and contractors, Nisbets’ scale and infrastructure will allow UK Engineers to grow substantially. We have already identified several very exciting projects to collaborate on and look forward to the future with great confidence.”
