John Shepherd will be retiring from the industry on 30 August.

John Shepherd is to retire from the catering equipment industry after 40 years.

Since starting his career as a young chef, over the last four decades Shepherd has worked with an array of leading equipment brands including Falcon, Rational, Welbilt, Middleby Group and for the last 4 years, Wexiödisk.

With his last day scheduled as 30 August, during his time at the Swedish warewasher manufacturer Shepherd has increased the company’s market share in the UK and Ireland, and in so doing introduced sustainable warewashing appliances in the process.

Magnus Titusson, MD at Wexiödisk commented: “It’s been a pleasure to work with John over the past 4 years. On behalf of the entire Wexiödisk team, I would like to thank John for his hard work and dedication in raising the profile of Wexiödisk across the UK market. We would like to wish John a relaxed and enjoyable retirement and all the best for the future.”

Subsequently replacing Shepherd as UK and Ireland country manager will be David Glover. He brings with him much experience, having spent his entire career in the foodservice industry, both working as a chef, as well as fulfilling senior sales roles for the likes of Rational, Electrolux and various equipment dealers.

David Glover joins Wexiödisk from USS Catering.

Glover joins Wexiödisk from USS Catering where he has held the position of sales director for the past 4.5 years. He will officially start the role in July, where he will spend 8 weeks working closely with Shepherd and the team in Sweden, to get up to speed with the equipment range and wider business ethos.

According to Glover: “From the moment I was introduced to Wexiödisk at USS Catering, I was blown away by the brand’s innovative and sustainable approach to warewashing. In fact, so passionate was I about the brand’s warewashing portfolio that I secured USS Catering’s first Wexiödisk sale which has since led to the company’s machines being specified on numerous different projects.”

Henrik Florentzson, sales and marketing manager at Wexiödisk said: “David’s familiarity and passion for the Wexiödisk brand, in addition to his impressive foodservice career, are factors which make him the perfect candidate for this position. We are truly excited to welcome him to the Wexiödisk team and look forward to working closely with him on some very exciting UK projects and launches.”
