Spares specialist Commercial Catering Spares (CCS) has appointed John Scott to the senior management team in Manchester.
He has moved from competitor First Choice Group where he was a member of the firm’s senior leadership team as commercial manager.
Scott will be working closely with CCS’s MD Jonathan Booth to manage the integration of GEV and CCS’s infrastructure, both in the UK and at GEV’s head office in Munich, following GEV’s acquisition of CCS late last year.
In addition, he will be working with partner company LF, now a sister firm after GEV’s owner, private equity investor Riverside, purchased a majority share in the Italian-based spares provider in April.
As a qualified engineer and senior manager, Scott can pull from over 40 years’ experience gained in both spare parts provision and equipment manufacture to align the group’s strengths in the UK and develop what the company believes will be the UK’s best-in-class customer-focused solution provider and spare parts service.
Scott commented: “There is no better time than now to join CCS. While the hospitality industry continues to grow, the needs and demands on our service industry necessitate choice and availability of quality spare parts.
“The opportunity to work with key industry figures both here in the UK and in Europe is key in delivering ‘best in class’ customer service. With over 40 years of industry experience and knowledge, I am excited that we at CCS and the GEV group can offer and deliver everything the customer wants – service, quality and importantly, choice.”
CCS’s Booth added: “The spares market in the UK, Europe and indeed worldwide is changing with large players coming into it.
“We at CCS are now part of the largest spares company in Europe incorporating GEV and LF, which puts CCS right at the heart of this change driving increased service levels and more choice for the customer.
“John has decided that we are in the best position going forward and we are very happy to welcome him as a key player within the CCS team.”
