Helen Ashton, CEO of catering equipment servicing specialist, JLA, is stepping down from the company.
Catering Insight understands that she has decided to pursue other business interests after 2 years at the firm.
Ashton has led the business through a significant period of change, driving the business to expand into new product lines, geographically across the UK, and to reportedly achieve significant operational efficiencies.
As a result, JLA should be well placed to continue delivering on its ambitious plans for growth and customer focus.
The company’s CFO, Ben Gujral, has been appointed interim CEO with immediate effect, and it is understood that the executive team will be working closely with him during this interim period.
Ashton joined the business on 2 January 2019. Prior to that she was CFO of ASOS, the online fashion retailer, and had held various CEO, MD and FD roles in financial services including Barclaycard, Lloyds Banking Group and Capquest.
JLA has a significant presence in the catering equipment market, having itself bought out dealers including: Carford, Red Squared, CKM, Proton Washrite, Harmony Business & Technology, Comcat Engineering, and Newco Catering Equipment, and in 2017, manufacturer, DC Products.
The Ripponden, West Yorkshire-headquartered firm provides servicing solutions to more than 25,000 small and medium-sized enterprise customers in total, offering its ‘Total Care’ proposition, which combines equipment supply with guaranteed service response times for a contracted monthly fee.
