Foodservice equipment servicing specialist Catercall has acquired the business of JDS Catering Equipment.
Surrey-based distributor JDS offers full kitchen services from designing new kitchens, installation, project management and full aftercare service and maintenance.
The firm started out over 30 years ago as the brainchild of founder John Spiers, who was joined in 2008 by co-owner Nigel Quince. Spiers and Quince are both very well known and respected characters within the hospitality industry and have forged strong industry relationships during their tenure.
Spiers commented on the acquisition, saying: “Both Nigel and I have really enjoyed our journey here and are proud of what we have achieved in JDS, however, now is the right time to look taking things to another level.
“We are really pleased to have found a likeminded company in Catercall to carry forward our philosophy of providing a high quality service to our clients. Together we are much better placed to overcome the challenges the industry finds itself, now and in the future and we are very excited about the prospects for the business by being part of the Catercall group.”
While Catercall’s CEO Matt Magee said: “Following on from last year’s acquisition of Kent Catering Services Bromley, the addition of JDS into the Catercall family will strengthen Catercall’s ability to offer a full range of kitchen services and benefit from the synergies created by being part of one larger group.”
He confirmed: “John and Nigel will continue to work within the group and we will benefit hugely from their skills and experience. We are looking forward to exciting times ahead.”
In 2019 Morden-based Catercall itself was bought by PumpServ, part of the Keltic Engineering Group, via a pre-pack acquisition deal.
