Brakes Catering Equipment has come out all guns blazing with a new website and catalogue that it hopes will strengthen its standing among customers.
The investment in a new online platform will offer Brakes a much higher level of internal content management, making it easier to continually update news and web offers.
Martin Hall, managing director of Brakes Catering Equipment, said: “The online retail environment has been developing at a phenomenal rate in recent years and will undoubtedly continue to do so. We felt that our old site did not offer us the ability to expand and develop our e-commerce offering in the way that we wanted.”
New features of the site include a clearer search and navigation functionality; interactive product catalogue; the ability to save and amend order baskets; and account management functionality with transaction history.
“We will also be launching a mobile version of the website before Christmas and the site will launch the appropriate version depending upon the device that is being used to access it,” revealed Hall.
The website has been launched in tandem with an improved annual catalogue that features more than 2,000 new products from industry leading suppliers.
From a design perspective, the catalogue features a fresh, modern look with vibrant colours and a strong focus on usability for customers.
“Aside from range expansion, the biggest change from a content perspective has been to give our capital goods and foodservice projects offering much greater visibility than in previous catalogues,” adds Hall. “This resulted in capital goods being expanded from one to 11 dedicated sections.”
