Prime Minister Boris Johnson seems to have developed a new-found love for coldrooms on the last day of the general election campaign.
The conservative leader was visiting eco-friendly milk delivery company, Modern Milkman, in Leeds today, when he was approached by ITV reporter Jonathan Swain.
Swain tried to get the Prime Minister to agree to a live interview with his channel’s morning magazine show, Good Morning Britain.
After one of Johnson’s aides swore at the journalist on live TV, Swain’s questioning managed to elicit a response of: “I’ll be with you in a second,” from the Prime Minister.
However, straight afterwards, Johnson turned around and headed into one of Modern Milkman’s walk-in refrigerators with his entourage.
The reporter then cut the live link, with Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan subsequently describing Swain’s attempts as “heroic work”.
The UK general election takes place tomorrow, 12 December.
