Cooking equipment manufacturer Blue Seal has once again joined the roster of Catering Insight Awards sponsors, this year backing the Distributor of the Year – Project Management trophy.
This category will recognise a company that stands out for delivering special projects to a first-class standard while considering extra health and safety measures during the pandemic.
The winner will be announced alongside 15 other honours at the gala ceremony on 18 November in the grand 8 Northumberland Avenue in central London.
Blue Seal’s UK branch manager, Glenn Danks, commented: “Blue Seal decided to sponsor the Distributor of the Year – Project Management Award because of the close relationship and reliance that we have, as a business, on that sector of the market.
“Since the introduction of the Blue Seal range of products in 2006, our suited equipment has led us into the chain restaurant accounts, throughout the UK, where we work closely with the relevant distributor, in ensuring that the project is delivered on time and training is carried out by a qualified Blue Seal member of staff.
“Due to the fact we sell solely through distributors, our relationship with the distributor, is of paramount importance.”
Of the event itself, he praised: “Having sponsored the awards for many years, I see it as the original most inventive of awards. To see people rewarded, who have not won awards previously see their work recognised, makes everyone smile.”
The Catering Insight Awards shortlist will be announced before the end of this month, and subsequently hundreds of senior sector executives will once again choose the winners themselves, with distributors voting on the supplier categories and vice versa.

Catering Insight takes the safety of guests very seriously, and so will be implementing many measures ahead of and during the ceremony to mitigate Covid risks as much as feasible. The team has secured a larger space than would normally be required, to make sure there is plenty of extra room for social distancing if preferred. We have also opted for the largest possible tables (usually used for larger groups) so there is as much space during the presentation as possible.
Guests will be recommended to wear masks before, after and between the three courses of the evening’s meal. Finally, we will be asking all attendees to provide either proof of double vaccination or a negative lateral flow test within 48 hours of the event.
