Baron presents dealer award, freezes prices for 2014

Catering equipment dealer HK Projects has been named as Baron’s UK Distributor of the Year.

The award, which takes into account business done in 2013, was presented to the Rotherham-based company by Universal FSE’s Roger Flanagan and Jon Richmond. Universal is the exclusive UK agent for the Baron brand.

Jason Fish, managing director of HK, said: “This award is really due to all our team who work tirelessly and with a real team spirit to achieve genuine satisfaction to our clients and, of course, our supporters in the supply chain. Baron, in the form of Universal, fits perfectly into the ‘quality’ ethic for our business and we are delighted to receive this.”

Flanagan said that HK was deserving of the accolade: “Universal’s criteria for this award are not just turnover levels but also the relationship we have with our distributors.”

Meanwhile, Universal has also confirmed that it will not be increasing its prices this year. Following talks with Baron’s office in Italy, it has agreed to maintain last year’s prices until the end of 2014.

“This will help our many distributors who have projects coming to fruition in the coming months avoid the issue of having annual rises to explain to their clients and the subsequent negotiations,” said Flanagan.

He added that Baron prices were not available online or in catalogues, meaning that all quotes are via distributors or supplied as list price by Universal.
