Baron braced for BIM, launches compact combi

Universal FSE has confirmed that it will soon be in a position to fulfill all UK BIM requirements for the Baron and Olis brands that it distributes.

The company says it has been working on the provision of BIM-compatible design protocols and these will be ready for kitchen designers to access early in the New Year.

Roger Flanagan, Universal’s managing director, said that all the work had been carried out using the Masterchef Design system.

“Our consultant program support service provider, Renderimage, has confirmed that all our CAD and rendering processes will conform to UK BIM specification needs,” he said.

In the meantime, the emphasis is on raising awareness of a series of major new products to its portfolio.

As reported by Catering Insight last week, Baron and Olis have just completed a two-year product upgrade programme and the revamped range of equipment will be showcased together for the first time at Host in Milan next month.

One launch the company is particularly excited about is that of its new ‘Compact’ combi oven range.

Flanagan said: “This new range is from 4 x 2/3 size to 10 x 1/1 size and comes in a footprint from as small as 510 x 625mm for those really tight spaces. Controls are either top- or side-mounted depending on model and are the same type as those used on our larger models. They have been market-tested heavily and the results and reliability are excellent.”
