A catering equipment maker from South Yorkshire has sold its 500th sushi machine – to a restaurant in Argentina.

Since it started selling its manual Roller-35 sushi machine in 2011, Barnsley based SushiSushi has generated total sales of almost £250,000 and built up a list of international clientele in the process.

Owner, Stuart Turner, developed the equipment to allow untrained restaurant staff to produce consistent quality sushi and told Insider Media: “Our sushi machines have gained interest in many countries, with 100% of customers finding us online.

“It’s amazing to think that customers as far as Tierra del Fuego Province and Reunion Island near Madagascar are choosing a piece of catering equipment made in Barnsley for their hotel restaurants.”

SushiSushi received orders from Italy, Chile, France and the USA during February and has previously sold products to Japan, according to the report.

The company stocks a range of products sold to restaurants, chefs, retailers and cooking enthusiasts across Europe and the rest of the world.

Its clients include Great British Menu judge Michael O’Hare and MasterChef runner up Andrew Kojima.
