Catering equipment manufacturer Angelo Po has opened an office in Singapore as part of a wider global growth plan designed to build on its success in Europe.
The company already has an office in China and it was its exposure to the Asian market during the Beijing Olympic Games that served as the catalyst to continue its expansion eastwards.
Mark Williams, managing director of Angelo Po’s UK operation, told Catering Insight: “Quality equipment going into China — hotels mainly — has proved very successful for us and hence the setting up of an office and live demonstration centre. Singapore marks further investment in a part of the world we believe is rife for growth.”
It is understood that the Singapore office will be used as the base for supporting other markets within the Pacific region.
The move also ties in with a recent corporate rebranding that saw the company’s logo and branding updated.
Williams says the new subsidiary follows on from operational launches in France and Australia, as well as China, in the last couple of years.
“These are all Angelo Po-owned businesses and form part of a larger strategy to develop the global business even further,” he revealed. “South America is another market that we are currently having success in and monitoring very closely.”
Angelo Po has its roots in the Italian market and develops a wide range of equipment from combi ovens and cook ranges to refrigeration and dishwashing machines. Its UK operation is based in Dinnington, South Yorkshire.
