Andrew Galeckyj (or ‘Ski’, as the industry knows him) has left his role as sales director at IMC/ Britannia Kitchen Ventilation to return to the refrigerator sector.
On Monday, the experienced industry executive will be joining True Refrigeration as projects and regional sales director. Ski previously worked for Foster Refrigerator between 1997 and 2014 before joining Britannia, which last year merged with fellow Middleby Corp company, IMC.
He wrote on LinkedIn: “I am leaving a company and great team at IMC that are sure to excel for many future years. Great product, people, leaders of innovation and led by a fantastic MD in Steve Witt. I wish them all great success.
“I am starting a new chapter in my life, going back to my first love in refrigeration. I will be joining a world class organisation in True – it always needed to be something special to lure me back. At Hotelympia in early March the company will be launching a breath-taking range of counters that sets the highest of standards in performance, looks and energy savings. I really cannot wait, and I hope to see all my friends, past customers and new at the show.”
His appointment comes as True prepares to launch these new lines of equipment, specifically developed around the requirements of the UK kitchen design project market.
Ski, who received a special award in recognition of services to the FCSI, will assist in further developing relationships with key kitchen design houses, foodservice consultants and project-focused dealers.
He said: “I’m delighted to be joining True at this exciting time for the company. I wouldn’t be coming back to refrigeration if it wasn’t to seriously shake up the industry, and these new products really do tick all boxes for kitchen designers and their clients.
“Design standards, including flexible drawer configurations, and industry-leading energy efficiency, combined with True’s refrigeration systems, will make for a very compelling offering to equipment specifiers, and I’m looking forward to helping develop those key strategic relationships”.
Scott Jones, True’s UK sales and key accounts director, added: “Andrew coming on board is a key appointment for us. His experience and expertise will help to further position True as the first choice in refrigeration for foodservice professionals.”
Meanwhile, Ski’s former firm has appointed Tony Bright to the new position of project and service manager. Bright re-joins the business having also worked for Halton and, more recently, Blue Vent, a commercial kitchen and restaurant ventilation business which he created.
IMC/Britannia MD, Steve Witt, commented: “Tony will not only oversee all aspects of Britannia’s project management from the initial enquiry right through to specification, design, pricing and installation, but also the IMC service department.
“We are delighted to welcome him back to the business and are sure that the many years of experience he has gained will enable Britannia to continue the excellent growth it has enjoyed since it moved to IMC’s main manufacturing facility in Wrexham.”
Bright is the first of a number of new additions to the IMC and Britannia sales teams with further announcements on new staff imminent as both businesses continue to grow.
